HAPPY EASTER from the Farm

How did Easter sneak up on us so fast?  Didn't Easter used to always be in April?  I didn't even get the chance to put out all my Easter decor , and I like having Easter stuff  out awhile, don't you?

It's been a hectic year, to say the least, but Easter is a new beginning for me.  I've been blessed in the past year with great clients and design work.  But now, I'm venturing into doing a few things I'll be telling you about soon.  Still design, but in a way, where I can be home more.  I realized when we moved into the farm last September that I never really had the time to get truly moved in.  I've never had  clients projects when I redo my own personal homes. When we acquire a new house, I usually take a sabbatical off from work and focus just on my own home to get it remodeled, situated. Anyhoo, so this is why I realized this Spring, that I need to slow down, and get my life & home more in balance.  It's also a time where  I need to focus on friendships, family, exercise, getting the veggie garden going :),  blogging, and personal projects that I've been wanting to do.

I'm excited to share the new "design" work I'm hinting about and hope you'll stay tuned loves....
until then, have a blessed Easter surrounded with those you love and enjoy the delights of Spring .

Kisses!

GOOD FRIDAY from the Farm

Good Friday everyone.  Hope your home is filled with happy decor to welcome the Easter Bunny and glorify our precious Lord.

Instead of sleeping in on a holiday, I decided to wake up early.  Walking outside there seemed to be this peaceful, quiet feeling, except for the sounds of the birds singing.  In other words, just a beautiful hush around the Farm. Not sure if I captured the moment or not, but I hope you can feel it this weekend too.

Have a beautiful weekend,

LAKEWAY PROJECT UPDATE

Enjoy some pics and details from a newly completed home in Lakeway, Texas.  The homeowners are previous clients of mine.  Do you remember the Lakeway remodel project?  The same clients sold that house the first week it was on the market, after we updated it.  Like me, they loved the Lake Travis area, so they  bought the lot next door!  Months later, is this new Lakeway home on the gorgeous golf course  and I'm excited to share it with you!

Three pots that make a statement as you enter....
Barnwood finish on the kitchen island . Notice the built-in paper towel holder? :)
You know I love open shelving....
In the Powder Room, LOVE LOVE the new neutral metallic grasscloth from Schroeder in Austin:
And the very cool cabinetry we designed with the quartz countertop:
Romantic Moroccan lighting!
....and just a few days ago, I styled the kitchen/living area:

The agave painting below isn't hung yet, and it's resting on an antique sugar  mold.  But we'll share BETTER pics when Christin takes photos in late March!
Design challenge? The niches the architect created above. I"m hunting for the right pieces that don't fight with the pattern of the stone fireplace, and don't add too much clutter. There's a lot of stuff in the shelves, and so you don't want a lot going on up in the niches either. Solution? I'm hunting for a pair of great architectural pieces or reclaimed wood art, or vintage signs.  If you see anything, let me know! I promise to share the completed rooms with BETTER pictures this month.

Do you feel like this lady sometimes??
I've been juggling a lot lately and trying to find balance too. Balancing time for family, friends, exercise, work, decorating my own home, starting that garden and just having time to catch up! How does Martha Stewart do it all??

Answer: A great staff!

Right now, it's just me and PT asst. help from sweet Christin. Christin also works another job in San Antonio  though, and so I find the need to either slow down on projects we take, OR add another assistant or intern!  If you have great computer skills such as Photoshop, CAD, that sort of thing...then email me!  Do you have previous experience helping a designer?  Do you live in the Austin or San Antonio area?  If you live in the Lake Travis area, it  would be even better! But alot of this work can be done from the convenience of your computer.  Are you amazing with any of these qualities: design boards, love running errands, great on administrative skills, Quickbooks, and are extremely organized ? If so, email me and tell us how you feel you could help us grow and benefit by having you on our team!

I'm off for a few days to enjoy some much needed family time for Spring Break, but would love to hear from you! If you need help with your home or would love for us to help you via E-Design, please contact us!  Click HERE for our contact info.

XO,
