Today, I'm showing you the fun , fun boys' room, where two brothers share the same room and bathroom. We found the aluminum letters last season at the Warrenton Antiques Fair in Texas. We toyed with the idea of twin beds positioned in an "L", but our challenge that you can't see, is on the opposite wall. There's a large ladder leading up to a cool play loft for the boys. (wish I had a pic!) But the loft is their hide out where they have fun Restoration Hardware bean bags, chalkboard walls, etc.. And the ladder just kinda got too close to the beds, if we would've done the "L" placement. So, we opted for the twins to be like this, and we're happy with the way it turned out. When searching for what twin beds to use, we spotted these very cool iron beds at Four Hands Home:
We loved their linen panels, nailhead trim and the iron look. But they were slightly out of our comfort range for the budget. Later that same shopping day, I spotted the iron beds we ended up using, at a local consignment store!! They had just brought in about 5 of them from some lodge that didn't use them anymore. The price was a true steal and they are great beds, and gave us the same type of look we were going for. They're made of a gun metal iron and definitely boy proof!
I had the workroom, Tabor's of San Angelo, create the denim roman shades with a top stitching trim of white, similar to how a denim jean hem stitching looks (wish I had a close up pic).
We mounted Pottery Barn sconces for bed time reading and added these wooden stumps for nightstands:
The bedding we chose is the Restoration Hardware Baby & Child bedding in the "ticking stripe". It's a classic print of a taupey/grey, navy, black, and creme stripe:
Honestly I can't remember if we found the trunks on Joss or local.....but those are easy to find online.
In the boys bathroom, just off their bedroom, we wanted the look to be fun but also classic .
We had our cabinet designer, The Greystone Farm, create the pull-out stool for the boys to use when their little. Once they're grown up, the stool can easily be replaced with a drawer. The fun retro style sink was found on Build.com,
as well as the plumbing fixtures. We planked the walls behind the sink for interest and added an oversized galvanized sconce from Lighting, Inc. For the tile floors, we used a penny round white tile with a black grout. Dash & Albert rugs in front of each boys' drawers too. The counter is a durable all black Caesarstone. For a dash of fun, we found the iron mirror at the Four Hands Home outlet.
Next in the boys' shower, we continued the white/black tiling:
We changed it up a bit, by making the tile floor and the tile ceiling in the black penny rounds with white grout, and the wall tiles placed vertically, in a white over-sized subway tile.
The other day I showed you the girls' room in the pink & navy. Well, in the hallway just in between the boys and the girls room, there's a great Study Nook for two chairs & two desks. We found these very cool chairs at the Four Hands Home outlet, made of rebar, faded denim & wood..... :
We had galvanized metal inlaid into the backsplash also.
Sometimes, the best details on a chair are on the backside. Love the denim jean pocket here:
Along with the plexiglass and wood backrest:
Hope you enjoyed today's tour and next time I'll be sharing the Guest Room & Pool Bath.
And you might be wondering how are things progressing here at the "farm"? We are almost finished with all the work and we started unpacking the PODS on Saturday! My friends, lemme tell ya it's been a "biyatch" moving into this house AGAIN!! But the good news is we love love our new floors and some of the things that had to be changed. Anyway, on day 6 of moving and this is what I'm digging my way out of:
But it's all good...Hope your having a great weekend!

Patterson, Part 3 (Girls' Room)
I'm so excited about this post today. I had so much fun with this room and the colors just make me happy! I love anytime pink is mixed with navy, it's just classic and preppy. Here's a couple of design boards we started with:
We ended up changing the ideas just a bit as you'll see. My client and her daughter were so gracious and fun on this room and basically loved so many choices like I did too.....but we ultimately went with the design of a corner bed because it just worked best for the room layout.
I basically started with the wallpaper in the scrumptious shade of pink & white, then chose a coordinating wall paint . Next I knew I needed a fabric with loads of colors to play off of.....so I chose the floral butterfly fabric. The navy charcoal fabric has shades of pink, lilac, turquoise, reds, orange, and yellow.
Once I had that fabric established I could have fun gathering other fabrics. Some of the pillows I gathered via Joss & Main, Etsy, West Elm, Serena and Lily or at Tuesday Morning. Here's a pic of my office when I was gathering.....I loved having the fun colors up on the board:
The upholstered corner bed was custom made by Briley's Upholstery and they knocked it outa the park! The original inspiration for this bed came from Carla Aston's design :
I used a neutral khaki linen fabric and they tufted it with buttons covered in the navy charcoal butterfly fabric, and added white modern legs to the bed. They placed each button in a way that you could see alot of the different colors of that fabric.
The window seat was upholstered in the same neutral linen and welted in the same navy charcoal print.
The orange lacquer table is from Worlds Away and gives a fun pop of color to the space:
The top of the nightstand has an inlaid mirror top:
In this pic, you can kinda see how we made the tufted buttons all have varying colors:
On the wall opposite the bed, I had a custom bulletin board made in navy linen with a frame of hot pink and shiny silver nailheads. Hard to see the scale of this board, but it's large. I believe it was like 42" x 42? I had to make it large so that we had "weight" on this side of the room too. The fun hot pink Pagoda lamp is from Worlds Away. The desk is West Elm and I think the ghost chair was Overstock?? (forgive this amateur picture, and this was before we hung the bulletin board....there isn't a professional pic of this side of the room...but loved that bulletin board and wanted you to see it!)
The adjoining bathroom started with the fun "penny round" white tiles with charcoal grout:
We added a sweet linen vanity chair from Joss & Main:
I had a custom shower curtain monogrammed :
And every little girl needs this quote in their room:
I hope you like this room as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
Tomorrow I'll be writing a post about the boys room.
Hope you'll stay tuned to the Patterson Project and.....

Patterson , Part 2 (Master Bedroom, Master Bath & Study)
Today I'm sharing the photos of the Patterson Master Bedroom, Master Bath and the Study.
In the serene bedroom, we used a natural seagrass wall to wall carpet. On top of the seagrass I layered a metallic cowhide. We also put a beautiful metallic grass cloth wallpaper on the bed wall only, and painted the other walls.
The beautiful master bed is from Decorum, as well as the reclaimed wood wall sconces: The industrial metal nightstands are from Restoration Hardware.
A close up detail of the soft and luxurious bedding from Feather Your Nest and the three gorgeous throw pillows are from Decorum:
Not pictured but left of the bed we put a great linen comfy chair with a modern floor mirror. (wish you could see them, cuz they're so cool!)
Anyways, walking into the master bathroom, is a light filled airy retreat. The flooring is actually tile that looks like wood. The counters are a seagrass limestone.
Custom his and her vanities flank the sides with extra large framed mirrors. The tile walls are also of the seagrass limestone.
The pearly seashell drum pendant is from Worlds Away.
Here's a close up of the "Croc" drum pendant.
And we used the companion smaller pendant in the potty room,
( which you can see if you look closely at the pic that's about 4 pics up :). )
Above the tub and in the potty room, we used this quatrefoil motif fabric, it coordinates with the oversized quatrefoil wallpaper used in the Potty Room:
The petite linen chair was found on Joss & Main.
For the backsplash areas of the vanities , we used a beautiful pearly irridescent tile:
Close to the master suite is the Study.
The gun metal desk and the chair are from Restoration Hardware and the very cool chandelier is from Lighting, Inc.. The curtains I had custom made in the Windsor Smith fabric in a black and white linen fabric, adding a graphic punch to room , along with the black and white natural cowhide rug.
Hope you enjoyed Part 2.....Part 3 will be out in a couple of days!
Have a great weekend,
