Rosey outlook!

I'm off soon for a family "adventure" & will blog about the details when I return!...until then wanted to say hi and let you know what's happening ......and I also wanted to send yall some beautiful roses for the day! Aren't they gorgeous? Orange and white roses, in honor of our "Texas - Alabama" football celebration last week.
I'm excited about the new year , hence the "rosey outlook"! Part of my excitement is the baby nursery I'm decorating (see my last post), and also an adorable "fish camp" lakehouse I'm working on. For the baby nursery, we're designing the window treatments and bedding, etc...I'll let you know the exciting plans for the pink nursery soon! (painters are there today)

The "fish camp" is in the raw stages, as well. The 2 bedroom cottage , located in Mississippi, is still being constructed, but here's a sneak peek of the project:


The adorable exterior:



The relaxing screened-in porch with custom swing. The swing will get a twin bed with custom pillows. (great for lazy afternoon napping, after a day of fishing or water skiing!)

The open kitchen:
...just a few details for this quick peek:
- the cool french laundry basket wire pendants! ..more thick braided rope will be added to the length, as well as the fixtures are being moved to the center a tad.....
-stained pecan cabinets will be installed opposite the island
- On the left side of the kitchen, there will be a full size stainless steel Wolf range with red knobs.
- A bar complete with the stainless steel ice maker will be located on the right of the picture. The entertaining porch is just outside the bar area.
The "fish camp" will host many family gatherings. The kitchen will be great for large groups, and it will open to the family room. (pics on that room later)

For the guest bedroom , there will be two queen beds. My client had the queen bed on the right from another house. Notice the antique tin detail on the headboard. The carpenter on the job, created the same bed on the left in one morning! (He's also the creative guy that made the porch swing.) We still have to add the tin on the new bed. Or, as we speak, we're deciding on possibly not doing tin , but upholstering the inset part of the bed with fabric. We're mixing ticking fabrics with antique french grain sacks, hemp & linen fabrics for the pillows. The bedding will probably be simple matelasse spreads with a custom topper at the foot of the bed. If we choose to upholster over the tin area, then we'll use either black and cream ticking or red & cream ticking fabric surrounded by pewter nailheads. The beds will be slightly distressed with a black paint, letting the cream paint barely show through.The guest bathroom:
- classic subway tiles
-will create a custom shower curtain here



A few of my favorite things that you may see in the "fish camp"! The beautiful candelabra is actually an antique reproduction created by a lady in Jackson.

I know it's short and sweet and I'll be posting more within the next few weeks, as we finalize fabric selections , more lighting, and accessories for both projects.
