FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS

Written By Unknown on Monday, January 28, 2013 | 9:20 AM

I woke up early Saturday morning a little earlier than normal and decided to finally read a book I'd bought a couple of months ago "Ricky Lauren, The Hamptons....Food, Family and  History".

I've always been a huge Ralph & Ricky Lauren fan and figured her book would be just as great as any fashion or design they've ever done.  Let me tell you it is!  I highly recommend this book not only for just lookin' good on the coffee table, but for the content as well.  I learned interesting history about the Hamptons and it's loaded with easy, healthy recipes Ricky has cooked for her family.  I was so inspired after reading the book, that I immediately had to race to my fridge to see if I had the ingredients for a Ricky Lauren breakfast for my guys.  I was in luck!  I was set to take on the Blueberry-Banana Pancakes in this picture below.
Let me tell ya...they were SO good!  I didn't have the wheat germ ingredient on hand, but I did have ground flaxseed and that worked just fine.  The recipe also calls for 2 cups of buttermilk, but only had one cup.....so I just added one more cup of regular milk.  The guys (my husband and son)  loved them and Cooper and Dylan (my dogs) woofed the bites I'd sneak to them!
So, I had to add some of this for the guys...(umm, the dog guys too).
And when the bacon started cooking, Cooper reminded me of one of my fave YouTube videos.
Ya, you know the one, called The Ultimate Dog Tease??  If you don't, check it out here for a great laugh if you love dogs:

I just started a year-long quest to compile a gift recipe book, for my kids with all my fave recipes.    Ricky's pancakes will now be added to our family's favorites! I'll be trying out many more of Ricky's recipes in the coming months and I hope you'll be inspired too.  You can purchase the book via Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

While I was taking pics in the kitchen, I thought I'd give you more views of the kitchen after the remodel.  If you follow the blog, you know it's been through alot.  But here are a few images to share....
That was my Saturday morning at the farm and I hope you'll purchase the Hamptons book and create those yummy healthy pancakes too. Have a great week and please let me know if you've read any of Ricky Lauren's other books and love them too.!

xo,
