TEAL with a twist of LIME

Written By Unknown on Sunday, March 4, 2012 | 4:23 PM

Today I'm excited to share a giveaway with my blog readers! I'll give you the details further down this post, but here's a hint: the giveaway is related to teal and lime decor.

Last year Shades of Light cover page featured a vignette of teal and lime.

I've kept that picture as an inspiration, knowing I wanted to incorporate the look into my decor one day. Recently that day came and I painted an accent wall in our piano room teal.

The color is Benjamin Moore's Beau Green, # 2054-20. . At nightime, the piano room has a glam sparkle to the wall because of the paint finish. The finish I used was BM's Regal Select Paint in Semi-Gloss. I really wanted the high gloss sheen but each gallon is very expensive when you add more gloss to an interior wall paint. The semi-gloss turned out to have plenty of gloss and still has the lacquer look I was going for.
Please note that this type of gloss looks best on flat , non-textured walls. If your walls have any type of orange peel texture, then the gloss won't look right. Gloss shows imperfections in texture or lumps.

Here's a few more shots of the piano room with teal, lime & turquoise accents.

Turquoise is the sister to teal and these colors just make me feel good! Adding a citrus touch of lime to the palette is a great accent.

Kravet's Windsor Smith's Archipelagos fabric in lime, is a great accent color to use in a teal room:
