Patterson, Part 3 (Girls' Room)

Written By Unknown on Monday, September 23, 2013 | 12:02 PM

I'm so excited about this post today.  I had so much fun with this room and the colors just make me  happy!    I love anytime pink is mixed with navy, it's just classic and preppy. Here's a couple of  design boards we started with:

We ended up changing the ideas just a bit as you'll see.    My client and her daughter were so gracious and fun on this room and basically loved so many choices like I did too.....but we ultimately went with the design of a corner bed because it just worked best for the room layout.

I basically started with the wallpaper in the scrumptious shade of pink & white, then chose a coordinating wall paint .  Next I knew I needed a fabric with loads of colors to play off of.....so I chose the floral butterfly fabric.  The navy charcoal fabric has shades of pink, lilac, turquoise, reds, orange, and yellow.

Once I had that fabric established I could have fun gathering other fabrics.  Some of the pillows I gathered via Joss & Main, Etsy, West Elm, Serena and Lily or  at Tuesday Morning.  Here's a pic of my office when I was gathering.....I loved having the fun colors up on the board:

The upholstered corner bed was custom made by Briley's Upholstery and they knocked it outa the park!   The original inspiration for this bed came from  Carla Aston's design :

I used a neutral khaki linen fabric and they tufted it with buttons covered in the navy charcoal butterfly fabric, and added white modern legs to the bed.  They placed each button in a way that you could see alot of the different colors of that fabric.
The window seat was upholstered in the same neutral linen and welted in the same navy charcoal print.

The orange lacquer table is from Worlds Away and gives a fun pop of color to the space:
The top of the nightstand has an inlaid mirror top:
In this pic, you can kinda see how we made the tufted buttons all have varying colors:

On the wall opposite the bed, I had a custom bulletin board made in navy linen with a frame of hot pink and shiny silver nailheads.   Hard to see the scale of this board, but it's large.  I believe it was like 42" x 42?  I had to make it large so that we had "weight" on this side of the room too.   The fun hot pink Pagoda lamp is from Worlds Away.  The desk is West Elm and I think the ghost chair was Overstock??  (forgive this amateur picture, and this was before we hung the bulletin board....there isn't  a professional pic of this side of the room...but loved that bulletin board and wanted you to see it!)

The adjoining bathroom started with the fun "penny round" white tiles with charcoal grout:

We added a sweet linen vanity chair from Joss & Main:

I had a custom shower curtain monogrammed :
And every little girl needs this quote in their room:
I hope you like this room as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
Tomorrow I'll be writing a post about the boys room.

Hope you'll stay tuned to the Patterson Project and.....
