Spring cleaning complete
I'm at the stage where I want to
decorate and add some focal wall art to my living space. Unfortunately
my interior tastes change like the wind so I am hesitant to spend huge
amounts of money on paint or wallpaper, especially when the thought of
installing (attempting!) wallpaper fills me with dread - even when it's
only a feature wall!
It seems I'm not the only one who has looked
for alternative decorating tools. The wall decal trend continues to grow
in popularity and so does the size of wall stickers. You can now buy
large and XL wall stickers, many measuring over a metre high, with
enough elements to fill a whole wall. With so many designs and
variations out there, it's not surprising people are using wall
decoration as the affordable and temporary way to transform their
sitting rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and even bathrooms and
shop windows!
Once only suitable for children's spaces
re-positionable decals have now been elevated to high design and
described as sensational with the ability to enliven any room in
minutes! Word quotes, chalkboard decals, mirror wall stickers, XL tree
designs, Marvel comic book posters, 3D and glow in the dark decorations,
the list is truly endless.
For renters, over-sized wall decals
are a great way to add quick bursts of colour and personality without
putting a hole in the wall and having to repaint on move out day. They
are a safe decoration choice as they don't leave marks or residue and
can be easily installed using the 'peel and stick' method. Many people
choose to create a feature wall with wall decals. It can be done in bold
colours and patterns and doesn't make a room seem too over-powered. In
fact many wall stickers are of such high-quality they look painted on.
For
parents and children, re-positionable wall stickers are ingenious as
they are a fun way to update a room with little expense. Children grow
up fast and change their style often so large wall stickers make perfect
sense and are easily changeable as a child's tastes alter.
