Tips for Customising Your Wall Stickers

Wall stickers have been around now for 10 years and increasingly popular throughout that time with home and office decorators. There are a dime a dozen companies selling them, and a handful who actually make them and then distribute them. Point being, it is pretty common! So how can you differentiate your wall stickers to make them special for your decorating project, rather than just the same as the neighbours? Read on for some ideas on how to customise wall decals to suit you.

Buy the same, but think different: Many wall sticker kits come as one piece. You can follow the pattern provided in the instructions, or think differently and cut the wall stickers apart installing it in a unique style. For example, you may purchase a tree wall sticker kit, but then cut the branches off and create a forest of upright branches above a bedhead rather than floor to ceiling tree.

Another example is that you may have bought a wall quote which has several lines all as one piece. You could cut between the lines and install them staggered in a different way, or on different walls, or starting on a wall and then carrying over to a window.

Customise colour, font and size: Don't settle for one size fits all, or for a colour that is not quite the perfect match to your interior decorating plans. Look for products that allow you to choose your own colour combination, your own typefaces and or your own size. By mixing and matching between these three elements, you can create a truly unique wall sticker for your space.

Combine products to create new: Take that one step further in your research when shopping online, and look for products that you can combine to create something exclusive for yourself. Most shipping is pretty cheap, so be brave and order one product from a website and look further for something different. Then when planning your decorating you can combine these two styles creating a one of a kind feature. An example would be finding a leading wall quote company and ordering a high quality wall quote, and then choosing more simple embellishments from a website that might have a better range of elements than the original wall quote website.

Plan, plan, plan: Some companies offer the ability to preview the design in a real setting, so look for opportunities to preview designs onto a photo of your room, helping you to plan out the best customisation.
